Level 3 Teaching Assistant
We are seeking to appoint an excellent, enthusiastic and committed teaching assistant for our Year 5 – 6 Class for September 2025.
JOB TITLE: Teaching Assistant with possibility of additional Midday Supervisor role
SALARY/GRADE RANGE: £24,027 Annually (FTE) excluding Midday Supervisor pay
RESPONSIBLE TO: Head Teacher
HOURS: Mon – Fri term time only + 5 training days: 9:00am – 12:00 & 1:15 - 3:30pm
Midday Supervisor hours 12 – 1:15pm
CLOSING DATE: 9am 25th April 2025
INTERVIEW DATE: W/C 6th May 2025 - however, applications will be reviewed upon receipt

Midday Supervisor and Playtime Assistant
Sutton VA Primary is a successful, happy and welcoming school. We are a friendly and inclusive Church School, who have been rated ‘Good’ with Personal Development and Behaviour and Attitudes rated as ‘Outstanding’ in 2021 by Ofsted.
We are seeking to appoint a Midday Supervisor and playtime leader. The appointed person will be responsible, during the lunchtime break, for the supervision, safety, general welfare, leading creative play and conduct of children.
Main duties/responsibilities to include:
- Can develop, lead and work as part of a dynamic and committed team.
- Setting up and clearing away the dining areas of any tables and chairs.
- The supervision of the children's entry into the dining room.
- Ensuring dining areas are clean and tidy.
- Ensuring all safeguarding procedures are followed.
- Have a good understanding and commitment to equality, diversity and the principles of inclusion.
- Have a commitment to the importance of play.
- Organising play/games as appropriate.
- Supervision of children in the playground or other area of the school as required, dealing with any incidents of inappropriate behaviour in line with the school’s Behaviour Policy.
- Assisting children who are unwell.
- Prepared to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
Flexibility is key in this position and you must be comfortable supervising groups using your own initiative.
There will be some record keeping required, therefore, you will need a good standard of spoken and written English, preferably GCSE Grade C or above or equivalent.
This position will involve lifting tables and chairs, with additional support, therefore the successful applicant will need to be physically fit.
